North Park

North Park is located approximately 10 miles from the Loop and is home to Northeastern Illinois University and North Park University. The community here is best described as academically active and family-oriented. North Park has a sense of peaceful seclusion that can be attributed to the fact that it is bound by the North Shore Channel and the Chicago River's North Branch. Families especially love the suburban feel of this neighborhood that has the added benefit of being just a short commute away from downtown.

The residences in North Park are predominately historic homes and traditional brick bungalows, although there are some townhouses and condos that lend themselves to area students and younger couples. Laid back, family-friendly eateries and bakeries abound in this part of the city, so you're never hard-up for something delectable to eat, be it a Swedish meatball or some baba ghannouj. One thing that residents love about North Park is that it's a breeze to travel through and around due to its small area. You can safely walk or bike around for errands in the proximity of the neighborhood, or catch a quick bus or train ride to other locales.
