Logan Square
Logan Square features a growing number of restaurants, shops, and entertainment options. While there is an extensive assortment of dining options in all directions, local restaurants and cafés are favored among the neighborhood's inhabitants. There is also a handful of bars, theaters and other entertainment venues in Logan Square. The area is also home to one of Chicago's many farmer's markets, as well as the Taste of Logan Square, a small scale version of the city's massive food festival, the Taste of Chicago.
One of the greatest features of Logan Square is the greenery--there are so many trees you'll forget you're in Chicago. The boulevards here are an essential part of this neighborhood. Chicago's boulevards were developed in the 1800s to serve as wide, foliage-filled roads for scenic carriage rides. Today, Logan, Kedzie, and Humboldt Boulevards are some of the most beautiful streets in the city, lined with stately stone and brick houses, lots of green grass, rows of colorful flowers, and massive leafy trees. These roads have been designated "Logan Square Boulevards Historic District."
Branching off the wide, landscaped boulevards of Logan Square is a veritable potpourri of residences that cover every housing preference, from contemporary condominiums to old mansions. A mix of two-story houses, older apartment buildings and beautiful brick townhomes are also available in this neighborhood. Logan Square is home to good schools and a sense of community that attracts both young singles as well as families.
