Lincoln Square

Lincoln Square is yet another example of how the past so often collides with the present in Chicago. Although there are a number of neighborhoods that have that classic Old World charm, Lincoln Square has a unique feeling all its own. This quaint, four-block by four-block neighborhood is embedded within the Ravenswood community. It holds a rich culture filled with history, amazing food, and a continuing homage to Old World heritage.

May Fest, the Chicago Folk & Roots Festival, the Ravenswood Run 5K, the Lincoln Square Applefest, and the Lincoln Square Tree Lighting Ceremony are some of the events that are traditionally hosted in this lively neighborhood.

The variety of greystones, single family homes, and new construction gives newcomers to Lincoln Square a pleasing selection of residential options. In fact, city planning authorities and local activists have worked hard for decades to ensure this gorgeous residential part of Chicago remains suburban-paced and family-friendly. Twenty percent of Lincoln Square has been designated as a historic preservation district, which is arguably Chicago's largest.
